Having had a number of requests for a regular rag chew session from a variety of operators. Its become a regular thing to have a net on 14.229.29 (commonly called the 2929 net) and on 7080.
To establish this more formally we would like to invite rag chewers to join us on 14.229.29 at 04:00 UTC 7.080 at 14:00 UTC Amateurs use the slang expression ragchew or ragchewing to refer to an extended, informal conversation, a variation of the common idioms "chewing the fat" and "chewing the rag". The Rag Chewers Club, traditionally an introductory amateur radio award, was issued to the operators of thousands of amateur radio stations and many long-time operators can proudly claim to have received it as their first award in the 1950's and 1960's. If you are interested in the net simply pop along at the above time on the listed frequency for a good old rag chew. 73's from Frank 43HS1522 From the desktop qth of Frank 43HS1522 |
