I would guess that you are connected via WifI a network with a low signal. Low and fluktuating WIFI signals have an adverse affect on the HamSphere 2.0 application. In version 3.0, soon to be released, we have dealt with these issues.
Meanwhile, try to establish a stronger connection between your laptop and Access Point.
