I get the error to run /devices and choose another capture device. actual error message is error capture device :1 use /devices for info. when I run /devices in the command capture device 1 is the onboard speakers. if I plug in aux speakers it makes no difference. I must be doing something simply wrong , pls help. also do I have to have a mic also plugged in a aux port?? initially I was just going to listen and not transmit thanks |

Hello Mo
Try this ........... Next time you download the software........... WATCH for the screen with run in it to start the INSTALL process.................. I think there is a small box lower left corner TO SELECT or TICK.........answering a question ............Do you want to see this screen again................??? This may be your issue ............. maybe not !!!! ========================== I have also had a situation where the originaal ICON needs to be deleted and have the INSTALL process create a NEW ONE.......... refresh the icon !!! ============================ Hope some of this tips help you out.................... ============================ When something goes wrong ...........1st step is to RE-boot the computer completely........ To many people leave the computers running 24 hours 7 days a week......... Turn it OFF and re-initailize all system components !!! If you still have issues re post with more details.........or email me directly !! 73 Vic VE3JAR vloewen@sympatico.ca |

Hello James.
run /devices in the chat line. It will tell you the available in and output devices. Each device has a number 0,1,2 etc You can assign the audio devices to HamSPhere by using the /record and /play commands For instance, the command /devices may show something like this: Available playback devices: 0:Primary Sound Driver 1:Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) 2:Speakers (Logitech USB Headset) 3:Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio) 4:Java Sound Audio Engine Available recording devices: 0:Primary Sound Capture Driver 1:Stereo Mix (Realtek High Defini 2:Microphone (Logitech USB Headse Current playback device: 1 Current recording device: 2 In the example above you can if you wish to change the output device from speakers to headphones by issuing the command: /play 2 73 Kelly 5B4AIT |
