locking up

Hello
I seem to have a problem Hamsphere. When I try to log into it, I enter my callsign and my pin and click the login lit locks up. Cannot shut it down or do anything with it. In order to get rid of the locked program . I have to task manager and get rid of the java app running and it goes away Here what it says on the chat windows says Welcome to HamSphere Client ver: 2.0.18 Skin ver: Standard 2.0.7 Debug:TX Audio error:No line matching interface TargetDataLine supporting format PCM_SIGNED 8000.0 Hz, 16 bit, mono, 2 bytes/frame, little-endian is supported. **This show up after log in and it locks up Using playback device 0 All the other versions worked on my laptop I am running windows 7 64bit but the program work under the 32 bit section Here are the other specs on my computer AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 1.6 GHz 2x 256 KB L2 Cache Mainboard ATI Radeon RS480 Memory . 2048MB, Graphics adapter ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 1150 - 128 MB 256 MB Hypermemory, GPU/clock rate: 400/400 MHz Display 15.4 Zoll 16:10, 1280x800 pixel, WXGA TrueLife TFT Display, glossy: yes Harddisk 80GB 5400rpm Samsung HM080II Soundcard ATI SB600 HD Audio Connections ExpressCard, Microphone, Headset, 4x USB 2.0, VGA-out, Kensington Lock, LAN, Modem Networking Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g, 10/100 LAN, 56K Modem Any ideas on what could be wrong Later Ken Miller K F 6 J R E Kf6jre@gmail.com |

Here is a FAQ on the problem.
I am currently fixing this error handling in the HamSphere program so that it will be easier to setup. Please read the FAQ there. Regards kelly |

I have the same problem, but even after changing to play 1 and record 1, I cant log in.
Device 1 is my logitech usb speakers Alan Windows 7, Home Premium 32 bit Java is up to date. |

In the new release that will be out soon there is a better error handling.
In your case it is most likely the audio input device that is missing. HamSphere relies on both an input and output device. Any PC microphone will work. Same with the head phones..... There are a lot of different mics out there. You don't have get an expensive one. The "chep" models seem to work pretty good. 73 Jerry - N1TKO |
