Dynamizing CW and Digital modes usage on HS3 and HS4

Hi All,
I am a Hamsphere user since a few months and very interested in experimenting with Digital Modes & CW. Like many here, I am sad to see that there is not tremendous activity in these modes. So, I just had an idea that may boost CW & Digi mode usage... WHY not create some specific Awards related to CW and Digi Modes ? it could be like: CW Basic Award: xxx confirmed QSO's in CW mode CW Europe xxx confirmed QSOs with european stations ... etc ... Then, by DIGI mode or mode groups like: PSK Basic Award: xxx Confirmed QSO in PSK mode RTTY Basic Award: xxx Confirmed QSO in RTTY mode SSTV Award: xxx Confirmed QSO in SSTV mode DSSTV Award: xxx Confirmed QSO in DSSTV mode This could be varied according to mode, mode groups, distance, number of QSOs, Band for CW, etc .... Also for less frequently used modes: Olivia, Contestia, MFSK, Thor, etc., etc. You chose! All what would be needed is that there are confirmed QSOs via HS QSL system and that the MODE be set correctly according to what was done in the QSO. This could maybe boost the interest and the usage of CW & Digital modes and make more of them tested on HS ... what d'ya think ? Best Regards, Francis |

Great suggestion! I love digital modes but there are too few people using them.

Everything that promotes experimentation is great, so I fully support this suggestion. Opening a few other bands for digital modes could be useful too even with limitations (like 20 first kHz & 10 W, for example)
