Any of you looking to try PSK31, there is a very good iPhone/iPad app called PSKer that saves you a lot of trouble associated with configuring software, etc.
I've been trying it and it works great. A useful function is to use Hamsphere's echo server to try your signal and then listen to the RX stream and see if you get a clean decode. When you've got a good, undistorted signal, your iPhone or iPad will be transmitting and decoding just fine. Anyway, very cool digital mode! If any of you ever want to give it a try sometime, I usually hang out on 30 meters. 73, Loren My Hamsphere blog |

This is a cool idea as I really like PSK31 and Hellscriber. I don't have an ipad nor an iphone though. I love the narrow bandwidth of PSK31.
What do you do with your ipad then? Are you holding it near your computer's mic and speakers? 73 Bob |

It doesn't take much audio volume at all. In fact, I notice that too strong a signal makes it distort, causing errors. I love the digitalmodes. FLDIGI is also cool for running MT63. Our local ARES runs emergency net drills using MT63. Love the error correction. And SSTV is fun too! My Hamsphere blog |

The Predominate USA HF Digital Frequencies Are:
10 Meter Band: 28.110 - 28.125 Mhz 12 Meter Band: 24.920 - 24.930 Mhz 15 Meter Band: 21.060 - 21.080 Mhz 17 Meter Band: 18.100 - 18.110 Mhz 20 Meter Band: 14.060 - 14.080 Mhz 30 Meter Band: 10.130 - 10.145 Mhz 40 Meter Band: 7.060 - 7.080 Mhz 80 Meter Band: 3.620 - 3.640 Mhz As you guys can see.. these freqs go beyond the HS virtual radio.. You'll notice that these freqs are lower to mid lower parts of the bands. I'll be experimenting with PSK31 at the far lower end of HS bands.. this will be out of the way of general traffic. so if any of you would like to play some with psk31 send me a message or just join me on the band. Hello Tracy,
The HamSphere band plan clearly states that PSK is only permitted on the 30M band (10.1 - 10.2 MHz). The same band you have to share with RTTY, SSTV and CW. Good luck. 73 Bruce |
