On the October 5 Session of the HamSphere North American Rag Chew Net, Pete, M6INJ brought up a discussion point about HamSphere 4 Plugins and what plugins operators liked and did not like and how they positioned these plugins or how the set up and personalized their own HS Rigs.
One of the Checked in Operators suggested that having too many plugin or using too many plugin would degrade the usability of the HamSphere 4 and that it would affect or effect the individual operators bandwidth. To that end, I did a non-scientific experiment I took a bandwith reading without HamSphere Running, and another with HamSphere 4 running and the HS Rig I chose has a very large number of plugin and it has a very large foot print on my screen. On the North American Rag Chew Facebook page, I placed two graphics. One showing my VE3OHS/VY0 rig with lots of plugins and a very large foot print from the rig. I also placed two more graphics one showing the Bandwidth at 437.57 MHps Download and 114.69 MHps Uplodad with HS Rig OFF; and the second graphic shows 428.74 MHps Download and 114.70 MHps upload with HS 4 Rig running. I also placed the URL for this test so that you may go and test your own system if you choose to. I simply used DOC Google and the result you see in the graphic came up on the search but I will also include a link to a couple of places to test your system.
