Joe 2HS2265 was the winner of the 1 Hour Rental Remote and he plans to be operating 131RM1 on March 12, 2022 at 16:00 UTC.

The Question/Discussion for the Net this evening supplied by M6INJ – Pete:
You keep getting kicked off of Hamsphere 4 and lose connection, what error message could you get, and what tools would you use to check if it was your internet or the Hamsphere servers, also what simple things could you try to get connected?

This generated a very good discussion among the HamSphere Operators checked in.
Net Control Observations:

If you get the Port 5000 error in HamSphere 4 there are a couple things you can do before setting your hair on fire and sending off many messages on Facebook or to Tech Support. Google search is an amazing tool…first look up what the Port 5000 is and what it does. You will be amazed.
Here is some of the steps that I take when I have the Port 5000 issue.

1. Log out and Log back in…sometimes that will clear, if not.

2. Reboot your computer, still not working, complete the following steps.

3. Reboot your modem/router to clean the memory that also helps.

4. Clean up your system with the following steps (PC Windows Users – Sorry IOS folks)

a. On your keyboard press and hold the Windows Key and Tap the “R” key

b. RUN Dialog box shows up – in the Dialog box type - TEMP and hit enter

c. A long list of items will appear like in Windows Explorer – click ONCE on the first entry on the list on the right hand side and the push and hold CTRL key and Tap the A key all the files on the right on the right are selected….press the delete key

d. During the delete process you will be asked questions and there will be a couple of files left behind this is normal (please no other software running while doing this).

e. Again, Press and hold WINDOWS Key tap the “R” key and type %TEMP% hit enter. Repeat the items in step “C” above.

f. Once you have done the TEMP and %TEMP% right click on your Recycle Bin and select EMPTY RECYCLE BIN.

5. The above steps clean out all the “junk” that is generated when using the various programs in Windows.

6. Once the steps above are completed restart your computer and launch HamSphere 4.

7. If still having issues, Right Click on the ICON that Launches your HS4, from the Drop Down menu, select MORE and then RUN AS ADMINSTRATOR….a dialog box will appear and click yes to continue.

Online is an excellent manual Short User Manual 4.0.3 and again Google Search came through. I will place a link at the end of this post.
