Re: Hamsphere 3.1 QRT calls not being updated quick enough

Hello all,

I am very new to Hamsphere and wonder why it's so slow updating QRT callsigns, I have seen my call sign showing for a long time even when I have earlier gone QRT, this would explain why I have seen a call sign on a certain frequency and gave them several calls but got no answer, stations calling with these problems either think the station being called can't be bothered replying, and regard that station as rude, ignorant etc.

Hi Dave,

where do you see your callsign after QRT? In the cluster?
That would mean that the radio is still on (and you are NOT QRT, maybe only QSY to another band or frequency), or the program is still active (in the background).
The cluster is updating from time to time, not every second.

But if you see your callsign "outside" on the HamSphere-Site, that would be a little bit strange:
https://www.hamsphere.com/cluster.php

That should display the realtime-activity, but I can confirm the same effect there, for a few seconds or maybe about 1 minute. .

Hello Jorg

Thank you for your reply. I have just logged on again to HS3 went to 6 mtrs, waited for 2 minutes, logged off, shut down HS3,
after 15 minutes I logged on again to HS3 and my call is still showing that I am on 6 mtrs via live cluster, it doesn't matter how many times I select reload live cluster I am still showing as there, even after logging off and closing down HS3 for 15 minutes. ?????

That sounds strange.
In the program (HS3) it would be normal after re-login, but what happen if you shut down the program and wait a couple of minutes and look then only on the cluster-page (my link above), without any login?
I would say after this time your callsign should'nt be displayed there.

Jorg,

It doesn't seem to matter, live cluster, or via your link, I am still showing on 6 mtrs, I even shut down my PC and re- started, not that should have had any effect, but removed any weird possible problems in desperation, this is not good as we will get a bad reputation of not replying to stations calling, when in fact we are really not on frequency and been QRT for some time. I hope this can be sorted out SAP, I think I will give HS3 a miss for a while, or I'll be known as the station who does not answer calls.

Hi Dave,

that's interesting. Maybe a problem with a server delay or something like that, I don't know.

Anyway, I prefer the HS 4 system which is much more realistic (but less stations than on HS 3) and paid for a lot of plugins and antennas.
There is no "live-cluster", as there is no such function in a real Transceiver as well.
Only if spotted, stations will be displayed there.

Hello Jorg,

I have just had a look at HS4, very quiet at this stage, but I will spend more time there in future.
