Pilots and Aviation-Fans wanted

Dear OMs,
there are a lot of Pilots and aviation interested people on HamSphere, I know it. And we had this topic very often on the bands. As an old Pilot I love to talk about aviation sometimes, but there is a risk to bore other operators which are not familiar with this theme. So here comes my new idea: To avoid this problem and "collect" all the interested people - how do you think about a new "Aviation - Net" on HamShere? Maybe one day in a month and e.g. on 20 meters? I would suggest to make it on HS 3.0 to make sure that all aviation enthusiasts can follow the Net. What's your opinion? 73 and good DX from Jörg :-) JO31ok Bochum / Germany |

Ok, 248 Hits on the thread .... but there is still no reply and maybe no interest, so it seems this idea has died. :-( 73 and good DX from Jörg :-) JO31ok Bochum / Germany |

About the only thing in the world that could pry me away from the radio would be a chance to go flying! I only have about 25 hours as a student in a Cessna 152 and a little bit in Pipers. So I hope this may work. I spend time on You tube watching aviation videos to satisfy my cravings because it's just too expensive these days. |

Hi,
thank yo very much for your answer. :-) Oh yes, sadly it is very expensive - and by saying this in the USA (where private-flying is more "normal" and cheaper than here), what should I say in Germany? :-( One hour in only a Cessna 150/152 takes (in my area) about 220,- US $ and more in the meantime! And a Piper Archer about 300,- Euros.... And in additional all other costs, tax, medicals, charts and so on. So that's not longer possible. But there is a little chance for you: A very nice, but much cheaper Aircraft is the european Diamond Katana (from Austria)! It's modern, fast, very easy to fly and handle and in the European-Versions very cheap per hour. But in the USA there is a special US-Version "Eclipse C-1" with a Continental Engine, I don't now that price. She has a Fix-Prop and Mixture, so a complete other Aircraft than the DV-20 and DA-20 in Europe (with Constant-Speed Prop and Auto-Mixture). But some of this (DA and DV-20) are flying in the USA as well, maybe you have a chance. Many Flying-Schools and -Center are using this Aircrafts. Yes, it would be nice if we find some other aviation enthusiasts and could have a little chat about this. :-) "Wind 250, 12 knots. We have a Student-Cessna with touch and go in the pattern, cleared to land runway 27." ;-) 73 and good DX from Jörg :-) JO31ok Bochum / Germany |
