As we are all aware, or should be, the internet has become the playground of those members of our communities who like nothing more than to steal the things that are most precious to us, including our identities.
Knowing this, I am surprised when I see members listing their locations right down to the house number - I almost expect to see telephone numbers along side this.. Although full QTH details can be found via callbooks and online listings let's not make it easy for those who intend us inconvenience or harm. With in Hamsphere, or RF amateur radio, our country, square, or city is enough information for the purpose of identification, alongside your callsign and name. If you wish to exchange QSLs use the bureaus or online services rather than handing out your home/work address. Always consider your personal security when posting any information on the internet. Hi Andy.
I realize that the list is too specific. I have removed the QTH column as it was too detailed in some cases. 73 Kelly |
