Hello fellow Hams both computor type and radio type. Very soon we, VK land, will celerbrate our 100yrs of Ham Radio.
You will soon start hearing VK100WIA callsign being used on real radio, my club has July 1, 2, 3 as days we can use this callsign. I plan to use this callsign on Hamsphere, this will have its own special QSL Card for the 100yr Cellerbration. Its a big 12 months for us and I hope I/we can share this with all callsigns. Watch this space for more information. Cheers Paul. A small part from the www.wia.com.au web site. About The WIA Centenary Celebrating the centenary of organised amateur radio in Australia. The celebration is recognition of the foundation of the WIA and the very start of organised amateur radio in Australia during 1910. It has also helped to focus renewed attention on the early history of amateur radio in this country through careful research in a way not previously known to have occurred. For the full year being January through December 2010 and with the help of it's members, the WIA will celebrate the Centenary of organised Amateur Radio in Australia. |

Hello Paul
That's terrific.... You'll be the first Special Events Station on Hamsphere! I'll be looking forward to the times and frequencies you plan to operate. Thanks again and best 73 Jerry - N1TKO |

Will do Jerry, I will let everyone know as we get closer to the day. Looking forward to this on Hamsphere and bring a new level to the Callsigns that would not be involved in such a thing ie like us with a DX-pidition ect.
I'll more than likely run for 12-24hrs and let everyone know where I am in the DX Cluster window, that being moving around the bands every 30-60 minutes. As per every contact it will have the WIA 100yr Special QSL Card to hand out for the contacts made. I am trying to, as a club, looking into a coin with the WIA 100yrs logo one one side and the clubs logo on the other (we are 40yrs old this year) for a small amount plus postage (hopefully $12AUD plus postage) So if all comes about we should have some nice gear to make the contacts alittle more special. Cheers Paul |
