Passed my Ham test.

It gives me great pride to announce that last night I passed my Ham technician and general test. >:D<
Needless to say was not to worried about the tech test, passed with only one wrong. But the general was the one I feared, hadn't really studied for it and still passed by three correct answers.
So hopefully by next week at the earliest I'll be on the air waves.

Now if I can only figure out if the red wire goes to the blue wire or is it the black?

Hello Rev Matt
Congratulations! You are the second person this week that has announced they have their General Ticket here on Hamsphere. I hope it catches on and more people will go for the license. You can still use Hamsphere but you'll have more options!!
By the way Rev Matt, I know out of all the icons we can choose from, the one you have in your post looks the most happy.... however, its actually a guy giving us the middle finger!! HA!!! I'm sure you missed that.... Just for future reference my friend.

Again... all the best and be sure to come on here and let us know what your new Call Sign is!!

Congrats on your new status.

I am waiting for my vanity call to come in so I can up-grade to General.
I have to keep current tech class until new call is filed. Hope to have it in the next 20 days or so...
I should have taken them back to back....but...alas I didn't.

Hope to catch you down the log.

PS in regards to your logo....one man's middle finger is another man's thumbs up . LOL

Anyway thumbs up to you sir.....

Now that you mentioned it, I need to clean off my computer. I hate it when I laugh with a mouth full of coffee.

And I thought he was someone that lost all fingers but one, do to improper use of his telegraph key.

Congratulations, Reverend Matt. Welcome to the ham community!

I know you're going to enjoy your time as a ham.

BTW - you can connect the red wire any number of places, but not to black. Never to black. Well, not unless you want to test your fuse, that is. :)

Very 73,

Tom

Congrats Rev. Matt. We've got a testing session about 80 miles from here but darn it my wife has to work. Maybe next time.

So anyone know approximately how long ARRL/VEC takes to forward the info to the FCC?

Thanks Jerry, I'll keep an eye out on the FCC site.

Now to shop for a rig, that won't make me go broke.

Okay Matt
Congrats again.... If you are looking for a good used rig, try QTH.com.... No rip offs and a lot of very good equipment at reasonable prices. Very safe place to buy.
Also, there is a Yahoo group from Rhode Island. Tons of equipment at good prices. I will forward their weekly list to you to have a look see.
Good Luck

Congratulations, Matt! I don't care how long you're in the game, and how many calls you accumulate along the way, you're never going to forget your first piece of paper. Treasure the moment.

Well done!
