So,you made the decision and signed onto eQSL. Now what. You can print them but some say quality is low or copy paper (20lb stock standard) is too thin. If your a paper hanger such as myself, what to do. Here is what I have learned from other eQSL hams

Tip's
- download cards from in box to folder on computer (right click on card) save file as call sign

- if printing, use 65 lb "card stock" as these will hang better and last longer
- print two cards per sheet and cut to size.

- if you work diffirent ARoIP (Amateur Radio over Internet Protocol) modes such
as Hamsphere,CQ-100 or EchoLink and RF, you can make diffirent "mode" cards
and up-load them as you then send cards for mode used.

- download onto portable drive (flash drive) and print them out on photo quality paper
at your local photo shop or Kiosk. This can be expensive. I save this for the more
elaborate cards
.

- A cool new way is to upload cards from drive into a digital picture frame and display as
a slide show.

I use all these methods in the "shack" ok..it more of a spare bedroom then a shack but. non-ham visitors which out number ham visitors don't see them. They do not even see the tower and antennas.

So my new twist is to load the cards in a second digital frame and place it on entertainment center in the den or what ever area we are entertaining in. This will lead to someone asking "What are those pictures of"? And that my friends, will lead to some if not all parties ending in the "Shack" with ham radio being the entertainment.

It's a win..win..significant other is happy as the party is "happening and your a part of it for a change". You introduce your hobby to others and at the very least, you can continue to operate your radio under the guise of entertaining the guests. BUT..don't forget FCC Parts 97...Unless your shack and party is in a space shuttle or the ISS...KEEP THE PARTY MUSIC DOWN.:)-D

I'd like to suggest the acronym ARoIP (Amateur Radio over Internet Protocol) instead of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).

Good morning Alfred (OE5AKM),

I have taken your suggestion and replaced VoIP with the acronym ARoIP. This is fitting as to the current unfortunate Haiti crisis. Living in South Florida with a large Haitian community, the past few days I have been monitoring both RF and Echo link Emergency Net Traffic. Unlike VoIP (Internet Phone) amateur radio operators have come forward and used the Internet with the skills and true spirit of Amateur Radio.

Thanks for insight and the acronym up-grade.
