CW Net
2011-03-01 04:58
HI all. I am wondering if there would be any interest participating in a CW net. I have been a dedicated HF CW operator for 40 years and am dedicated in keeping that mode alive and well. I have experience running and moderating CW nets and would be interested doing this on Hamspere. You will usually find me on 30.125 calling CQ or listening for any CW activity on the 30 meter server. If you are new to CW this would be a great way to practice and if there is interest I would also be willing to have training sessions. All speeds would be welcome as long as one rule is observed: Do not send faster than you can copy.(thats a no no). Thats it so let me know via replies to this post 73 Frank VE7KEY

I am also interested in participating in a CW net. It's a good way to get my CW operating down pat.

Hi folks,
Just recently I found Hamsphere and like it very much. As a former maritime radio-operator (sparks) I certainly would like to join a CW net. I listen regularly on the bands, especially on the 30m band, have called several times CQ in CW but no QSO's sofar. On 40m I often hear vvv de URD 8/3/1 or something like that, but that's about all the CW I hear in Hamsphere.

As a former sparks I'm very interested and I think it is easy to set up by asking Kelly to arrange a band just for CW.
Users can find each other easely, because at the moment it is too difficult and a major reason that CW is not used.

I know there are a lot of Hamsphere users who practiced CW as a professional and also as a ham operator.

So, go ahead and make CW working on Hamsphere.

I am interested in trying cw out and having a place to practice. I can receceive at 13 wpm but the few bits of code that i have heard have been 18 wpm or better.
It would be great to have some place for beginners and thoes of us who haven't worked cw in a long time to have some fun and sharpen out cw skills.

thankyou cwg

I would be interested in a cw net as well. I would also like to try out some of the cw decoders out there to see if any are compatible with hamsphere.

10.010 - 10.035mhz HS seems to be the most popular CW section.
Try a CQ you never know who you will work. Most stations are not listed in CW mode but DSB mode because this is this easiest way to get up and running. Also try sending a text message saying that you are QRV CW on 10.???mhz to let other stations know you are active.
And if you need some CW practise checkout CWCOM(the internet morse only environment), download a copy and watch my youtube video to get started.
Have fun.. 73s Stephen.
