Unfortunately, due to a mix up I did not receive my renewal ion time and I may have to start over again. Even though I am not presently licensed I have plenty of experience. 1972-1974 as WN6SMJ and from 1982-2008 as KE6YB. I Have been holding off because I want to pass all three grades in one session. There's no more Advanced class and that's what I cot my call as. I upgraded to Extra in 1989 under the worlds best Elmer, W6DDB, Bill Welsh.I need to study a little bit for the extra exam believe it or notit looks like this particular site is oriented towards HF which is always been my first love, especially QRP and field daymy other big thing is packet radio oand vintage radios. d I really hope all interest has not been lost in those things. my first rig was a EF Johnson Viking 2 which I used on the novice bands running roughly 75 watts CW only. When I wanted to talk I just cranked it up to 11 meters turn the mic audio up high and plug the D-104 in. I worked plenty of DX. Even back then it was one of the few places you could run AM much.
Anyways I will be happy to coach some newbies but remember that I'm and old school Ham. From the tube and Morse code days! When Ham equaled shortwave and huge antennas! 73 from now Jim |
