Hello folks!
Well what Can I say, I am new to HamSphere, Not so new to Radio Telegraphy. Have operated various types/modes of radios/equipment in many locations over the years. Started out with an old Blue AM Midland CB back in the late 70`s! Was a 'Rig Doctor' through the 80`s and early 90`s then only used RT gear for work related operations, From using Marine VHF to installing microwave data links, have had a fair bit of fun with various chunks of radio spectrum over the years. Got back into radio last year and have been running a receiver station and Passive radar ground station for some time now tracking air traffic in Scottish and Shanwick Oceanic airspace. Rediscovered a box of my old gear while adventuring in the attic a few months ago. Aftrer a while I got round to blowing the dust out of the old clunkers and seeing if they still worked. After a bit of testing on the bench to make sure they were still behaving I am now using a Maycom EM-27 PR29/97 EU/UK CB, mostly on the EU channels with a selection of home brewed antennas. After a few weeks of DX-ing I joined the Tango Mike DX group, (callsign: 108-TM-303) found out about HamSphere from a fellow Tango-Mike DXer yesterday, It is now running on one of the PCs in my radio workshop and I am quite impressed with it. It will most probably become a permanent feature in the shack. I look forward to hearing from some of you on the 'Virtual Air'... Of course if you have the appropriate 'Real World' gear You could also give me a shout on 27.8125 = UK ch 25 (FM) or 27.61125 = EU ch 02 (FM) as I am monitoring EU and UK bands most days and evenings. All the Best, Paul, 26HS5625, Ayrshire, Scotland. 73`s. |

UPDATE:
CHANGE OF CALLSIGN: I am now operating the callsign 108HS5625 If You call me on the Real-World 27.84125 = UK ch 25 (FM) or 27.975 = EU ch 02 (FM) frequencies, There may be a delay in my return transmission due to having caught the 'HamSphere Bug' :-) I will still be monitoring EU CEPT band with SDR (RX-ONLY) and may have to power up the real-World Radio to reply. Did you spot the 'Pair of Errors' in my first post? [The more we know, the more there is to learn] 73`s. Paul, 108HS5625 |
