Hello everyone in the HamSphere world.
I'm Steve Gillentine, living with my wife in Pioneer California. Retired from Electronics Engineering and now enjoying the hobby that spawned my lifes work. I am an Amateur Extra Class Licensed Ham and operate a Kenwood TS-590S from my home QTH. I use an Icom 706MKIIG as a mobile -Emcomm radio along with my Yaesu VX7R. I believe that communications using whatever means available is valid and enjoy QSO's both using RF, a combination RF & Internet using Echolink or RCFORB and totally internet with Hamsphere.

I was born and raised in the small village of Lambourn, in the hills of Berkshire England. Lived in England and Germany for most of my youth. Immigrated to America in 1977 and have enjoyed my adult life living in Texas, then New Mexico and now Northern California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Guess I kept hearing "Go west young man"!
I have achieved a lot from the education available here in the States. From my humble Associates Degree in Electronics, to a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering where I graduated Validictorian of my class, and then on for a Masters in Business to round things out.
I hold the Extra Class Amateur License, an FCC Commercial License, ISCET certification and am FEMA certified as a Comm Tech.

I am an Eagle Scout, served in the U.S Airforce, worked for Intel Corp, Emcore corp, & Cabot Corp. I am now retired and enjoy growing a small herb and veggie garden, getting on the air and making new friends around the world and tinkering with Arduino and Microcontrollers.
Oh yea, I love my 2 dogs: Harley - a 5 yr old Boxer and Luci: a 6 month old Miniture Chihuahua. When I have time from all of this I play guitar.
something I have attempted to do since a child. It has always provided me with comfort and entertainment and continues to do so.

I have never met a stranger so if you have read this, thank you and drop me a note.
