Hello to all HamSphere Ops! After a hiatus of 3 years I've returned to HamSphere. Many excellent changes to the application and lots of
activity on the 'bands'. I am a licensed amateur radio operator. I live in the eastern part of the state of Washington. The weather here is very 4 seasonal with snow in the winter and hot humid days in the summer. There are many lakes, rivers and streams in the area so it's a great place for hunting, camping, fishing and other outdoor sports. I am active on the amateur RADIO bands, mostly on the digital modes like PSK31 and JT65. I'm interested in DXing and like to collect new countries. My real radio is an ICOM IC756pro which hooks up to an Ameritron AL 811 amplifier for a killowatt of power. My antenna is a 6 element log periodic beam on a 35 foot tower. For many years I was very active on the high earth orbit satellites. I lived in Germany for 6 years and held the callsign DA1RA. I am retired from the US Army. I'm interested in communicating with new people, and making new friends around the world. While on HamSphere you may also find my live USTREAM broadcast. If you would like you can use the following link for that broadcast: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/w7rjr-live. If you see a TEST PATTERN I am not on the air. 73 but hoping to hear from you soon. Hello Bob,
Regards from Istanbul, Turkey. I have lived in Seattle for 10 years. I attended UW for my PhD and later worked for aa company on Bainbridge Island. Now my daughter lives there. When I first saw Spokane after a 4th of July camping trip to Lake Chelan, I said this is exactly like Ankara, capital of Turkey where I grew up. The weather, the flora and the hills, all of them reminded me of home (less the wonderful Washington state apples of course!) Hope to run into you on the airwaves someday, 73s 116HS376 ibrahim |
