Hello Les,
Now that is an interesting topic.... How to get your Ham License in the UK. I have a license here in the USA but haven't a clue how it works over there. Maybe someone can explain the procedures for obtaining a license in their particular country.
Hamsphere should be an inspiration to all to get their Ham License!!

Thanks Gary, ive tried to gain some info on internet reguarding getting a foundation licence, but hav got nothing but confused, as far as i can make out its not gonna be easy or cheap.
Ive just got to be looking @ it the wrong way? What i need is an elmer in this country that can show me the ropes and point me in the right direction. Shurely it cant be this difficult.
Best wishes 73.

Hello Leslie
Getting a Ham License shouldn't be a difficult process no matter where you live. But I do imagine in some countries they may make you jump through a few hoops!!
Anyhow, I found this page... Click HERE
and I found it using Google.

There is a list of clubs.... maybe one near you...???
There is also a list of the different license exams. I think the one you are looking for is the Foundation...? That info is HERE
And!!!There is a page HERE that looks like a Tutor's page. I'll bet you if you search around and even email the club station, there will be plenty of folks willing to help you.
It's great to get a Ham License!! The best hobby in the world.
Good Luck and Please let me know how you make out!!
