Hello
I am not that active using CW .. morse code!! I have successfully decoded many cw qso with software like the one you are looking at MRP ...... I use a free one called FLDIGI......... But most of them are the same........... Some points to consider in the set up ............... 1) make sure the devices are set-up in the software in accordance to the soundcard... 2) Some need to be set into STERIO/ MIX mode in the computer soundcard ..for the didital decoders and the microphone muted..... 3) When tuning in a signal ........one needs to refer to the waterfall and zero beat the cw tones.... this will change if the sender shifts freq........ so one needs to adjust accordingly......... 4) Not all cw code will be decoded that you hear........ it depends on the sender..........Manual hand generated cw code( straight key / paddle ) is not perfect in spacing / gaps ....... so the software will not give correct letters but giberish .......... it relies on the sender to send PERFECT morse code.......... Hope some of these points help you out ............it is exciting once you recieve a few words that make sense !!!!!!!!! but one needs to rely on the human ear to filter and decode most with the software to just assist, not re depend on it 100% of the time........... 73 Vic Ve3JAR |
