EUROPEAN RADIO TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 2014 – ERTC-2014 YOUR CHANCE TO TALK TO ALL FIFTEEN (15) NATIONAL TEAMS PRIOR THE EVENT

YOTA (Youngsters On The Air) is a youth movement inviting fifteen (15) European (EU) national youth teams to a selected EU location every year to get together, learn from each other and experience various aspects of Amateur Radio through meaningful and entertaining concepts emphasizing social, radio communication and technology skills.
YOTA is run under International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 1 auspices and is sponsored by the European Union and organized by the youth of the selected country. YOTA-2014 will be hosted by the youth team of Finland (SRAL) nearby the city of Virrat (OH6) in the summerly Finland. The program includes ERTC operating event which is organized within YOTA framework for the first time. Hamsphere (HS) is providing YOTA a VoIP platform for this activity and they will seek a contacts with other HS users.

WHAT IS ERTC-2014?
ERTC is a voice communication (VoIP) competition (contest) where two-person national youth teams try to make a maximum number of contacts with a maximum number of HS users in maximum number of countries within a defined time period. ERTC uses a Virtual Amateur Radio platform (HamSphere 3.0) where amateur radio-like operating is conducted on the Internet with amateur radio-like bands and operating structure. National teams will use a special ERTC callsign indicators, both for pre-activity as well as for the ERTC-2014 itself. The event itself will be held on July 19 & 20 on selected HS frequencies.

PRE-ACTIVITY ON HAMSPHERE
During the period from June.15 through July.15 these fifteen (15) country teams will operate on HS and you can catch them for contact. Since they are new on HS a maximum support and help should be provided by HS community.

YOUR REWARD
After you have logged all fifteen stations you qualify for “ERTC-2014 Special Award”.
You can recognize these fifteen stations by their YOTA callsign indicator as follows; Team Poland, SP14YOTA, Team Finland, OH14YOTA, etc……..
